How much does gas cooktop installation cost?

A straight swap is the cheapest gas cooktop job there is. When the old cooktop already runs on gas and the new one drops into the same benchtop cutout, most Sydney installations land between $150 and $400, plus the compliance certificate. Add a brand new gas point and the total climbs by roughly $250 to $550 on top, depending on how far the pipe has to run from the meter.

What a like-for-like swap includes

Terry disconnects and removes the old unit, inspects the isolation valve and flexible connection, fits the new cooktop, leak-tests the line and commissions every burner. If the appliance ships configured for LPG and the home runs natural gas, he converts the injectors as part of the job. The work finishes with a compliance certificate, which is a legal requirement for gas work in NSW rather than an optional extra. What pushes the price toward the top of the range

Why this is not a DIY job
